AFFINBANK Group Collaborates with Asian Banking School for Operational Risk Review and Scenario Analysis Programme
KUALA LUMPUR: AFFINBANK Group (AFFIN) has recently signed an agreement with the Asian Banking School (ABS), the preferred industry provider of premium capability development programmes for financial institutions, for a customised programme for Operational Risk Review and Scenario Analysis awareness and implementation.

The main objectives of the programme are as follows:
  • Improve AFFIN’s operational risk management practices
  • Build robust methodologies and a multi-dimensional approach to develop and analyse operational risk scenarios
  • Equip and empower relevant personnel within the Bank with relevant knowledge and tools including Train-The-Trainer (TTT) certification

“We are delighted to once again collaborate with ABS to customise this programme to enable AFFIN to further align its operational risk management practices with regulatory expectations.

This programme is expected to equip our executives with the necessary knowledge and skillsets to manage emerging risks by performing additional operational risk identification and assessment via the scenario analysis approach”, said En. Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil, Group Chief Executive Officer, Affin Bank Berhad, at the signing ceremony which was held at Menara AFFIN.

Present at the signing ceremony was also ABS Chief Executive Officer, Professor Colyn Gardner. He said, “The continued trust by Affin Bank in ABS to develop its talent is a great affirmation of the high standards that we set for ourselves when developing training programmes for the industry. It is especially encouraging as well when you have senior management, like at AFFIN, recognising the need for continued learning and emphasising the importance of training throughout their organisation.”
