KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 (Bernama) – The Asian Banking School (ABS) has rolled out its first batch of 20 torchbearers under the Future Leaders and Managers Enrichment (FLAME) programme.

The programme targets graduates starting out in the financial services industry.

The trainees were part of apprentices under the Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP), ABS said in a statement today.

The programme is aimed at equipping graduates with the necessary technical knowledge, as well as exposure to personal development and job apprenticeship.

"From the 150 participants that make up FSTEP's current Batch 13 intake, 20 graduates were chosen for the 10-day exclusive FLAME programme based on their performance in leadership, collaboration, creativity, communication skills and analytical thinking.

"The selected group underwent comprehensive interactive training to develop their strengths in leadership, teamwork and personal development - all essential areas needed to form a strong foundation in being effective future leaders and managers," it said in a statement today.

ABS Chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim said the programme was the first of many changes that ABS would undertake and introduce for the FSTEP.

"We are in the advanced stages of revamping the content and sponsoring model of the FSTEP programme to make it more effective and in line with the industry needs," he added.
