    LEARNING OBJECTIVES
    By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

    • Appreciate the big data ecosystem and how it applies to various banking business cases
    • Gain a strategic understanding on how they can develop high-impact big data analytics
    • Walk away with a list of “quick wins” – banking analytics use cases they can start right away in their organisation

    • Understanding the importance of advanced analytics, concepts and applications in the digital economy
    • Leading practices of local and global companies in applications of advanced analytics
    • The analytics maturity landscape (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive)
    • Opportunities for the banking sector, e.g. risk management, enhancing customer experience and user segmentation and targeting
    • Opportunities in supporting services e.g. HR and finance
    • Understanding the importance of data governance
    • Understanding the advanced analytics ecosystem (from ingestion to analytics to organisational transformation)
    • Establishing good data management
    • Assessing advanced analytics talents and skills needed
    • Organisational analytics maturity in relation to business strategy, culture, people, process and technologies
    • A systematic approach to starting a data science project – a structured methodology for high-impact analytics projects
    • Group activity: Data-driven business case brainstorming and prioritisation
      • A logical process of analysis and prioritisation to identify “quick wins” business cases or analytics for the participant’s organisation. The identified “quick wins” business cases will justify the analytics projects and/or proof-of-concept

    PETER KUA

    Peter Kua is currently Head of Data Science and Analytics at Media Prima Digital. His responsibilities include finding ways data can be used as a competitive advantage as well as identifying new business opportunities with data. Peter was also instrumental in driving the National Big Data Analytics (BDA) Initiative under the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in the areas of thought leadership and industry development. He played a key role in developing the first National BDA Framework that delivered strategic recommendations / action plans to achieve the National BDA vision.
    Peter has extensive tech-related experience in various roles: Big Data / Data Science Strategy, Technopreneur, CTO, Project Manager and Software Developer. Startup leadership and management style. Excellent communication skills. Solid network of contacts in the private sector, government and universities/colleges.
